Geez Jenny. WTH does all that even mean?

Let me explain that bit of legalese a little more clearly. Every site uses cookies to some degree. If you find any website that doesn’t use some sort of cookies somewhere, I may eat my hat. Cookies do all sorts of things.

For example, I use Google Analytics, which shows me how many people view my site (15 people looked at it today! Woot!) and shows me to some degree where these folks are — Like “Russia” or “Australia” and occasionally “North Carolina” or something along those lines. It does not tell me that a 34 year old mom of two residing at 123 LivingLarge Lane viewed 8 pages on my site.

I can see which posts are most popular and which ones no one bothers to look at. I can see charts of when I have a spike in traffic (50 people in one day? NO WAY!!!). Cookies make all of that possible.

Ya know how you can comment on a post and your gravatar pops up automatically? Cookies, my friend.

Advertising on my site may use cookies put in by the advertiser to track how many people click through or view a page with their ad on it. As of today I have no ads, just a few affiliate links.

Does that make more sense? I swear I’ve not yet been on a privacy policy page that I understood. I hope this one makes sense to you. If it doesn’t, or if you have more questions about what cookies my site uses, or what my privacy policy is, please contact me at Privacy [[at]] dishwasherrequired [[dot-da-dot]] com
