The Heathen Homemaker’s Weekly Meal Plan 2015 – Week 50

The Heathen Homemaker’s Weekly Meal Plan 2015
Week 50: 12/13/15 – 12/19/15

I’ve changed my naming/numbering format for the weekly meal plans. It occurs to me that it will make more sense over the long term to name them by year and the week number of the year.  This assumes, of course, that I’ll still be listing weekly meal plans 14 years from now and that someone will remember a meal plan from five or six years ago that they want to reference.

Preschool ended for the calendar year this past Friday. I have three very, very long wonderful weeks of all-day-kids to look forward to. Yay! My grocery list was pretty short. I have quite a bit of meat that’s collected in my big freezer and I had many of the non-perishables already lurking in the basement cupboard.

What are you having for dinner?

This week

The Heathen Homemaker's weekly meal plan. She always has some great ideas!

Sunday – Chinese food[1]
Monday – Slow cooker brisket, broccoli, rolls, salad
Tuesday – Hirino psito pork[2], mashed potatoes, green beans
Wednesday – Enchiladas, beans, salad, avocado
Thursday – cheeseburger mac & cheese[3], salad, some sort of side veg
Friday – Crockpot bacon & cheese chicken, succotash, salad
Saturday – Leftover Palooza!

[1] We’re attending a Chinese Lantern festival this evening so we decided to have Chinese food at a restaurant. The kids are super excited. They LOVE Chinese food.
[2] I have no idea why it’s called Hirino Psito. Sounds really exotic, right? It’s not particularly!
[3] This is just a made up recipe. I make my own homemade macaroni and cheese. When I’m making the cheese sauce I add catsup and mustard and sometimes some garlic powder or other hamburgerish seasonings. I stir in some cooked ground beef and toss the whole thing in the oven long enough to justify calling it a casserole.

So what are you having this week? Are you trying anything new? Let me know in the comments!
